Brenda Cooper
Brenda Cooper writes science fiction and fantasy short fiction and novels. Her novels include the Endeavor Award-winning solo debut THE SILVER SHIP AND THE SEA, and two sequels, READING THE WIND and WINGS OF CREATION from Tor Books. Brenda has also published a collaboration with Larry Niven, BUILDING HARLEQUIN'S MOON, also from Tor Books. Her novel MAYAN DECEMBER was published by Prime Books and her far-future sf novel THE CREATIVE FIRE is a 2012 release from Pyr Books.
Her short fiction, solo and in collaboration with Larry Niven, has appeared in Nature, Analog, Asimov's, Strange Horizons, the Salal Review, and in multiple anthologies. Brenda is a futurist, and works with noted futurist Glen Hiemstra. Her non-fiction futurist work can be found on Glen's Futurist.com site. A frequent public speaker about the future, Brenda likes to engage audiences in conversations about the future. She lives in Bellevue, Washington, and works as the CIO for the City of Kirkland.
